Cultural-Historical
Between 1794 and 1796, Hwaseong Fortress was established as a memorial to Prince Sado's remains. Elements from China and Korea are integrated into its special architecture. It took more than 700,000 human hours to create the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The magnificent grounds that lie behind a 3.5-mile wall that once protected the fortress can be visited by travelers today.
