Description

In the battle of Gettysburg in 1863, more than 50,000 soldiers died. On American soil, it was the bloodiest war ever waged. The territory of the national park is a shrine to the lives lost during those three tragic days of the American Civil War. Gettysburg is staging re enactments, tours and outreach activities as America marks the 150th anniversary of the Civil War through 2015.
