Cultural-Historical
In the 1920s, the Gateway of India was completed, commemorating King George V's royal visit in 1911. There is a Mughal flavor to the art deco style, topped with twin pinnacles and ringed with a top-heavy pediment. The arch is also the stepping-off point for harbor cruises, Elephanta Island boat tours, and harborfront horse-and-carriage rides.
