Description

One of the major meeting points in Bratislava's Old Town is Franciscan Square. The cathedral, which was consecrated in 1297, has a wealth of Renaissance and Baroque features inside. Saint John the Evangelist's Gothic Chapel is where Hungarian aristocrats were once ennobled as knights. Thanks are provided by the Marian Column for the victory of King Leopold I of Hungary over a Protestant revolt in 1657.
