Cultural-Historical
In the Hippodrome section of Istanbul, the Kaiser Wilhelm Fountain is situated. The German Emperor Wilhelm II commissioned Kaiser Wilhelm's Fountain, hence its name. It was designed as a sign of positive relations between Germany and Turkey in 1901.The fountain's neo-Byzantine theme blends in well with the old hippodrome's aesthetics. The fountain has a gazebo-style dome ceiling and columns that are octagonal and stately.
