Description

In 1833, Fords Theatre was completed. On April 14, 1865, President Abraham Lincoln was shot and assassinated there. Ever since the 1800s, the building has been a theatre, factory, office and chapel. In 1932, national historical places were named as the Fords Theatre and Petersen Building. The National Park Service, which is a National Historic Site, manages the historic structure today.
