Cultural-Historical
Between Casablanca and Agadir, Essaouira is a fishing port and beach town on the Atlantic coast. In the 1960s, it was a hippie hotspot that drew such artists as Jimi Hendrix and Mick Jagger. It is a popular location for surfers, windsurfers and kitesurfers today. The area is also a vibrant centre for the arts, lined with galleries of sculpture, craft stalls and live music.
