Cultural-Historical
At the heart of the medina (old town) of Marrakech, Djemaa el Fna, or Place of the Dead, is an immense open expanse. As an outdoor market, concert hall, restaurant and theater, the square works. A centuries-old oral tradition is carried out by storytellers, leaving audiences spellbound with tall tales. The Mosque of Koutobia and the Atlas Mountains are only a short stroll apart.
