The most ostentatious of the Russian imperial jewels is seen in the Diamond Fund. They were initially located in a small space in St Petersburg's Winter Palace. The set contains the 1762 Coronation Crown of Catherine the Greats. The 190-karat Orlov Diamond weighs 3.6 kilograms and is one of the world's largest gold nuggets. For special occasions only, the Diamond Fund is open to the public.
