Description

Castle Devín is situated 695 feet above the Danube and Morava confluence. In Celtic times, the first fort was built here. The property changed hands several times until, in the 19th-century Napoleonic Wars, the castle was blown up. With twisting passageways and cobbled courtyards, the castle is now a photogenic ruin. As a symbol of nationalism for the Slovak people, it is important.
