Description

In the coastal town of Alanya, Turkey, the Damlatas Caves are a network of dripping caves. In 1948, during mining operations at a quarry, they were mistakenly found. For people with asthma, the air inside the caves is said to be helpful. It has 10 to 12 times as much carbon dioxide and 95 per cent humidity as regular air. With the specific goal of curing their asthma, a large number of tourists come to Alanya each year.
