Atop the Peloponnese sits the city of Corinth, linking the Greek mainland and the Pelosian peninsula. It is just 4.3 miles from the ancient Corinthian and Acrocorinthian ruins. The Corinth Canal, 3.9 miles long, is considered one of Greece's most significant engineering feats. In the early 20th-century, the new city was developed and is primarily a manufacturing and administrative centre.
