Description

Since the 4th century, the Church of St Savior in Chora has been standing. It is assumed that the current building was built in the 11th century, then transformed in the 16th century by the Ottomans into a mosque. The church's interior has been particularly well preserved over time. The frescoes show the lives of Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary, as well as Christian saints and icons.
