One of the first sites in the Czech Republic to be placed on the UNESCO World Heritage List was Cesky Krumlov. Around 3 hours south of Prague, the medieval town is situated. The city's eponymous castle is the centerpiece of its historical heart, a massive complex second only to Hradany Castle in Prague. Some of the houses in the town have been carefully returned to their former glory.
