Tenochtitl¡n, built in 1325 on top of an island on Lake Texcoco, was once named Centro Historico. A vision was obtained by seers of the roaming Aztec tribe, asking them to locate their great settlement. Templo Mayor, an Aztec temple, was once the most important temple in North America. The Metropolitan Cathedral is the most important cathedral in the world. Torre Latinoamericana is Latin America's tallest building.
