Description

The Central Market of Kuala Lumpur was developed for the local communities in 1888 as an open wet market. In the 1980s, the wet market pulled out, but the Malaysian Heritage Society succeeded in saving the initial structure from demolition. Today, the beautifully restored building houses vendors, as well as a batik emporium, selling handicrafts, souvenirs and artwork.
