A unique view of the Southern Cross is offered by the Carter Observatory in Wellington, New Zealand. Inside the Botanical Gardens, visitors can hear about solar flares and cosmic hurricanes. There are two high-powered historical telescopes that bring their eyes to the stars. Visitors can spend evenings craning their necks skywards at the stars as long as the weather allows.
