Description

Constructed in the mid-1950s to house a major record label's first West Coast outpost, this landmark has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The distinctive tower was purportedly intended to symbolize a stack of vinyl albums on a turntable. In the 2004 disaster film The Day After Tomorrow, it was seen most vividly, being smashed to the ground by a massive tornado.
