The National Park of Bukhansan has more than 1,300 plant and animal species. As the most visited national park by area, the park has kept the Guinness World Record. It was founded in 1983 and has an area of 80 square kilometers (50 square miles) that stretches over Seoul and the surrounding province of Gyeonggi-do. It has everything from simple trails for hiking to peaks of granite.
