Description

In 1402, the Flemish architect Jacob van Thienen planned Brussels City Hall to a large extent. The distinctive lacy central belfry is Jan van Ruysbroeck's job and doubles the façade's height. The entire building is encrusted with 294 sculptures of saints and public figures that were added during the late 19th century by 91 different artists.
