One of the biggest country houses in England is Blenheim Palace in Woodstock, Oxfordshire. For the Battle of Blenheim, built in 1704 as a present from the English nation to John Churchill, first Duke of Marlborough. The house was completed in the short-lived English-Baroque style, complete with a Louis XIV bust on its back.
