Cultural-Historical
Since the first century A.D., Serbia's Belgrade Fortress has become a military stronghold. On a 410-foot cliff overlooking the Danube and Sava Rivers, the 124-acre (50-hectare) site lies. Upper Town, Lower Town and Kalemegdan Park are the three major regions. In the Middle Ages, the Lower Town was the center of the settlement, and the 18th century Turkish Bath now contains a planetarium.
