Adventure, Nature
Banjar Holy Hot Springs is a small village situated in the Balinese hills above Lovina. In the midst of a tropical garden, natural pools are fed by a heavy, sulphur-rich water supply. The water is poured out of the jaws of mystical stone figures on the backs of bathers. For soothing elbow, head and back massages, the resulting jets of water are used and are said to have multiple healing properties. However, before leaving the complex, tourists should not wear something white or brightly colored and show off any leftover water from the pools, as the sulfur in the water will stain a green-brown shade on textiles. After a long walk or a busy culture trip, the hot water is also great for a soothing bath to relieve sore muscles.
