Description

In southeastern Belgrade, Serbia, Avala Mountain rises almost 1,700 feet above sea level. It is the only mountain in the region and, since 1859, has been protected. The mountain is the location of Serbia's highest structure: a 202-foot-tall TV tower. One of the founders of the First Serbian Rebellion in 1804 recalls the Memorial to Vasa Carapic.
