Cultural-Historical, Museum
The Numismatic Museum of Athens was first opened in 1834 and has been moved during its lifespan many times. Its new resting place is the Iliou Melathron, a Neo-classical mansion at the end of the 19th century that once housed the German archaeologist Heinrich Schliemann. The home, built in 1881 by Ernest Ziller, is an attraction as large as the museum.
