Description

The Asakusa Temple, erected in the year 645 AD, was devoted to the goddess of grace, Kanon. The entrance of the temple is guarded by stone-carved statues of Fujin (the Wind God) and Raijin (the Thunder God). Local stalls selling folk crafts and Japanese snacks line the shopping streets of Nakamise. The Kannondo Hall, home to the beautiful Asaksa Shrine, is also there.
