Cultural-Historical
In 1741, the Empress Elizabeth commissioned Anichkov Palace. Until 1917, when it was nationalized in the wake of the October revolution, the palace was a royal residence. Today, it is used as a platform for after-school programs for children and is closed to the public. Visitors may visit the tiny history museum on-site or schedule a private palace tour.
