Cultural-Historical, Monument
This landmark statue, built in 1910, commemorates the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the Independence War of Nations. Travelers will now find that the Angel of Freedom has become a popular gathering place for locals, once a memorial of commemoration. For a number of Mexican war veterans, the base of the memorial also acts as a mausoleum and final resting spot.
