Cultural-Historical
As part of the expansion of Budapest under Emperor Franz Joseph I, Andrassy Avenue was completed in 1885. It links the Pest-side town centre to the City Park at Erzsbet Square. In 2002, along with Heroes Square, it was listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. In order to maintain the architectural unity of Andrassy, the fathers of the city constructed a rail line under the road.
