Cultural-Historical
Peter the Great's Admiralty Building was designed and initially acted as a dockyard. When the Orthodox church proclaimed them to be pagans, many of the statues were burned in 1860. During the siege of Leningrad, the building was destroyed and was targeted in World War II by the Germans. There is also a 240 foot golden spire that stands on top of it with its weather vane, a small submarine.
