Aldor (Arabic: الدور), is a small agricultural town near the Iraqi town of Tikrit. It is mainly populated by Arabs and includes a great number of people from 4 tribes, al-Shuwaykhat, al-Mawashet, al-Bu Haydar and al-Bu Mdallal. Al Mawashet tribe is famous for supporting Saddam Hussein. The origin of the name is Babylonian - Assyrian and it means "the fortress".
